Hurricane season is around the corner and it’s time to evaluate your situation and make

warranty...think again. The insurance industry has made some changes in the past few years that

has left many homeowners vulnerable to being unfairly denied in legitimate insurance claims.

Insurance companies are taking new steps to ensure that they save themselves money and stay in

business. Their primary goal is to reduce claim amounts or have claims dismissed all together.

They do this by hiring attorney’s to prove that either the roof was already in need of replacement,

that you were aware of existing problems, or that you were simply not maintaining your roof as

specified in your policy.

describes the tactics the insurance companies are using, and gives associations tips and advice on

how to avoid being denied.

I know most of us have the tendency to take things as they come and refrain from taking

preventative measures in order to save money now, but this can be a risky choice. If you haven’t
